Réjean Munger, B.Sc., M.Sc., PhD (Physics)

Chief Scientific Officer

Réjean has over 25 years’ experience in the research and development of biomedical instruments that use light to assess health in a non-invasive manner. At the start of his career, he specialized in the human eye and in-vivo and in-vitro measurements in blood and other biological tissue. For 17 years until 2013, Réjean was Senior Researcher and Assistant Professor of Optics at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, where he held the Clifford, Gladys and Lorna J. Wood Chair for Vision Research. He is the co-founder of Ocular Mobile Innovations, now WinTerra Ocular, and has held senior roles, including Chief Scientist, for several private-sector companies.

Réjean received a Master’s of Science and PhD in physics from the University of Waterloo. He holds patents for several devices and has published in several international journals in the field of optics. He was a founding member of the University of Ottawa Centre for Photonic Research, where he served as Assistant Director of Biophotonics. Rejean is recognized for his cutting-edge research and academic work.
